Commercial Photography Conference Doubles in Size for 2007 Event in San Antonio

SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS—The Commercial Photography Conference, hosted by the Commercial Photographers International (CPI), will double in size for its 2007 event. Held at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio, Texas, the conference will now present two full days of educational programming, featuring some of the biggest names in commercial photography. The conference begins Saturday, January 13 and runs through the end of the day on Sunday, January 14.

In addition to expanding its offerings, the CPI Conference has teamed up with Imaging USA, the international convention of the Professional Photographers of America (PPA), as well as SEPCON, the Sport and Event Photographers Conference. CPI Conference registrants will receive complimentary admission to all regular programming for Imaging USA and SEPCON, including the cutting-edge Adobe Photoshop for Photographers educational track. CPI Conference attendees also have unlimited access to the three-day Imaging Expo, one of the photo industry’s largest trade shows, which takes place in the Gonzalez Convention Center from January 14 to 16.

“We are excited to bring an expanded conference to Imaging USA in 2007,” says Michelle Hatch, association manager for CPI. “Starting the conference one day before the Imaging Expo and all the other Imaging USA activities will allow our commercial photographers a chance to focus on the education while making contacts with like-minded professionals. After our event closes, CPI Conference attendees can peruse the various offerings from Imaging USA and SEPCON while learning from industry icons in closely related fields.”

CPI Conference attendees will be treated to a star-studded list of program presenters, including Eddie Tapp, Jack Reznicki, Peter Krogh, Don MacGregor, Paul Aresu and Joe McNally. Topics range from a commercial photo case study to environmental composition and light control. Attendees can also check out the Imaging USA Super Program with renowned commercial and editorial portrait photographer Gregory Heisler. Other special programs include a photographic cultural exchange with Chinese image makers, as well as a couple of all-inclusive convention parties in the evening hours.

As the professional photographic industry diversifies, the need for quality education in a variety of disciplines is more important than ever before. The CPI Conference is an essential event for anyone practicing commercial photography or considering expanding into that market.
